Who: Hams on the west coast with 40M
capability who would be ready to help getting traffic in and out of
the area during an emergency.
Format: This is an informal net and
all operators are encouraged to check in. If you want to test a new
antenna or compare microphones, this is the place. There are
operators all over the west ready to give you a report. A list is
used to speed up the running of the net but you do not have to be
listed to check in. SOARA members are usually called separately by
Lou, KG6FCT.

SOARA as an organization is proud to support
numerous local groups involved with emergency communications.
Our 6 repeaters are invaluable in times of emergency such as the
Laguna fires and the recent floods.
Many of our members have taken the Level 1
ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications class and several have
reached level 3. Our members are also involved with local
emergency communications groups including those listed on our
links page.
Our BBS system is available as a clearing house for
emergency information. If you have info, report it there. If you
need info, look for it there. If you don't have internet access -
use you radio to call someone who does and ask them to look there.
