High Altitude Balloon 4 Launch Scheduled for November 9th, 2019

Hello Fellow HAB Volunteers;

We are go for our next HAB launch. The City of Lake Forest has given us permission to launch from the Lake Forest Sports Park on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. We are looking for previous and new Ham Radio Volunteers to assist in base communications, photo documentary with drones, stills and/or video, and on the ground balloon chasers. Previous launches included an APRS transmitter and standard transmitter that transmitted on the standard Transmitter Hunt Frequency 146.565 Mhz FM. This is a great opportunity to put Ham Radio skills to a fun use.

We have also scheduled two pre-launch meetings. Please plan on attending one or both of these meetings:

Saturday, October 19th and November 2nd. Both meetings will be held in the Rec Center at the City of Lake Forest Sports Park, 28000 Rancho Pkwy, Lake Forest.

This year we are running an afterschool program at La Paz Intermediate School to help students design and build experiments. We have also posted the official “Call for Student Experiments” on our website. Several teachers have already expressed interest in having their classes participate.

Thank you for supporting Science Heads and our High Altitude Balloon / STEM program. We couldn’t make this opportunity available to local students without your help!

Best wishes,
