April General Meeting ONLINE!

Dear SOARA Members,

The SOARA April meeting topic will be the Orange County Fire Watch Program, and our presenter will be Tony Pointer, Fire Watch Program Manager for the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and Orange County Parks.

Because of Social Distancing/Safe at Home, our meeting and program will be held virtually via computer using the GoToMeeting platform, This platform will allow a similar format to our typical in-person meeting with introductions, announcements, a presentation with graphics and videos, and an interactive Q & A session. The GoToMeeting platform was selected because it works with, computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, and most important, attendees do not have to download any special software or applications. An invitation and link will be sent out by Propagator, and email, as well as posted here on the SOARA website below. More detailed instructions will be in the Propagator.  The GoToMeeting platform is really easy to navigate. Hope you can join us, 7:00 pm, this coming Monday night.

NOTE: We will announce at the beginning of Monday’s meeting that we will be recording it to post later for those who could not attend.

This is the link to get into the meeting on Monday night: https://www.gotomeet.me/ErikWresch/soara-aprilgeneralmeeting

There will be a Pre-Meeting Meeting this Saturday at 3pm for those to want to try it out before Monday. We will try to keep this one short to 45 minutes or less. This is the link for that meeting is: https://www.gotomeet.me/ErikWresch/soarapremeeting

I will post a link to a live stream of the meeting that can be watched on YouTube on Monday or once it has been set up.

I look forward to a successful first run and an online meeting.

Erik Wresch, W6INE, Vice President of SOARA

Ham Radio Examinations will NOT be held in April and likely not in May either as the Norman P. Murray Center is closed until further notice.
