[Elmers] Hairpin match on an 11 element UHF Yagi

Hi all,

The pictured antenna came with a gamma match, but I didn't have any luck (yet) getting it to work well around 442.5 MHz. The antenna may have been designed for 432 originally, I suspect.

I have changed it over to a hairpin match (I hope), but the results are no better so far. Maybe it's time to cut all the elements shorter by a few mm.

Or maybe I need more insulation between the 2 sides of the driven element or more spacing, etc.

I haven't found a hairpin calculator to see if the one I made is too big (or too small). What is a good way to find out?

And if it helps, this is the UHF antenna I bought from SOARA from Hal's estate.

Thanks all for any suggestions.

73,

Mike
